Michael Axelsson - Tenor

Michael Axelsson, lyric tenor, recently released his first CD, "Hjärtats sommar" with opera arias and swedish art songs. At present he is a member of the soloist ensemble at the Opera house Landesbühnen Sachsen in Dresden. This season he will continue to perform Tamino in The Magic Flute, Kolomán Zsupán in Gräfin Mariza and Armand Brissard in Der Graf von Luxemburg, alongside the new productions of Dr Jack Seward in Dracula, Erich Collin in Commedian Harmonists and Fenton in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor.

 

Earlier Michael has sung for instance Tamino in The Magic Flute both at Opera på Skäret and Norrlandsoperan, Ecclitico in Il Mondo della Luna by Haydn at Drottningholms slottsteater and West Green House in England and Dr Cajus in Falstaff at Schloss Rheinsberg, Germany. Michael also frequently performs oratorio works, such as Bach's Christmas Oratory, Händel's Messiah, Mozart Requiem and Britten's Saint Nicolas.
